A LETTER FROM
PASTOR UGIS BRUKLENE

Dec. 12, 2004

Dear brothers and sisters from Living Branch Congregation.
May God’s peace be with you all!

It is with great joy that I am sending you greetings from the congregations of Usma and Ugale of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia (ELCL) during this Advent season.

I see many common characteristics between our congregations – in teaching, number of church members and mission. We are rejoicing in this opportunity of fellowship and cooperation that might bring new experience and encouragement for preaching Christ in those areas where the Holy Spirit has gathered us.

Both congregations at Usma and Ugale have the same theolocial foundation. We believe that the Bible is the unmistakable and eternal word of the Triune God, and that it serves as a measure of every human being and every teaching. Both congregations have identified youth work and increasing the involvement of passive congregation members as their priorities. We are also aware that we are messengers of Christ to those who do not know him.

May God bless every good intention in your congregation and our fellowship.

On behalf of the congregations of Usma and Ugale,
Pastor Ugis Bruklene
